OHANA ALERT! Month of August Updates

Aloha e na Papa ‘Elima B Ohana,

The following information/updates that you might want to mark your calendars for….

1) Early Release Day: Wed., August 17th @ 1:30pm.

2) K-12 All Campus Convocation @ Koai’a Gymnasium (High School Campus) @ 8:15am.  Ohana welcome to join us!  Dress Whites Mandatory.

3) Bus Evacuation Drill:  Mon., August 22nd.  Jeans are ok on that day.  Please refer to Kumu Marcie’s flyer for the do’s and the don’t’s on attire.

4) Picture Taking: Picture taking envelopes already have gone home!  If you haven’t seen it yet, please ask your child…or look in backpack!  It is a great idea to send it to class asap!  Picture taking will be on Wed., August 24th.  Even if you are not purchasing a picture package, all students must have an envelope at the time of picture taking.  Please return envelope anyway.

5) Aloha Wear Day: Fri., August 26th.  Students are allowed to wear aloha attire!  Yippee!  I’m hoping to take a class picture for our blog, please try to remind your child to join in and take advantage of a day off from uniforms!  See guidelines for aloha wear please.

6) Aha ‘Ōpio Campaigning: If your child is running for student body President, VPresident, Secretary, or Treasurer….campaigning is allowed.  All interested students who turned in applications (already due) can officially campaign during the week of August 22-29th!  Good Luck!  Speeches for candidates & elections will take place on Mon., August 29th

7) Good Citizen Award is now renamed.  It is now called the Hāweo Award!  The Hāweo Award for Trimester #1 will focus on the Hawaiian value of Ho’okipa. Ho’okipa: To show hospitality in greeting others; making others feel welcome and included.  Here’s a photo of Mrs. Naeole-Wong demonstrating Ho’okipa at our Welcome Back Assembly. 🙂
