Makahiki ʻEkolu – Wahi Pana

October 1st, 2014 by kaaarona

Choose a Wahi Pana, a place of historical significance.  It would also be maikaʻi to develop a personal relationship with this wahi.  Please use this break to visit your place.  Here is what you should do when visiting your wahi pana.

Kou Kipa ʻAna – Visiting your significant place

When visiting your significant place, you will need to write about the following:

  • when did you go (pōʻahia, lā ʻehia, hola ʻehia)
  • how did you go (kaʻa, kalaiwa, hele wāwae, kaʻa ʻōhua)
  • what did you see (poʻe, hale, pua, kumu lāʻau)
  • what did you hear (poʻe, manu, kai)
  • any other items that you witnessed/experienced
  • how did you feel while you were there

Kaha/Pena Kiʻi

  • you can draw with pen, pencil, or paint on an 8 1/2 x 11 in. unlined paper
  • draw/paint what you see

You also need to take 5 pictures that you will eventually put on a power point.  If you don’t have a camera, use your phone camera.

If you have any questions, please email me:  [email protected]
