Waihona Ākea

“E lawe i ke aʻo a mālama, a e ʻoi mau ka naʻauao.”

He who takes his teachings and applies them, increases his knowledge.

Waihona Ākea (Library General Collection) on the main floor of the Midkiff Learning Center (Hale Hoʻonaʻauao ʻo Midkiff) provides resources in print and digital formats and services that prepare our haumāna for college and life-long learning, i.e gathering and evaluating ʻike, exploring and informing passions, and supporting academic and personal growth.

Waihona ʻIke Hawaiʻi

Great and numerous is the knowledge of the Hawaiians.

Waihona ʻIke Hawaiʻi (Hawaiʻi Collection) provides students, teachers and staff with a full range of materials pertaining to Hawaiʻi. The collection includes over 12,000 books, periodicals, pamphlet files, pictures, charts, maps, DVDs, CDs, videotapes, audiotapes, vinyl records and music sheets. We are located on the third floor, near the LANI area.

Kahi Hoʻomohala Wikiō

“Ma ka hana ka ʻike.”

In working one learns.

Kahi Hoʻomohala Wikiō (Digital Media) offers students access to a TV Studio, camera equipment and Editing Lab.  This digital playground located in the basement of Midkiff serves as a hub for multi-media moʻolelo (storytelling) from a Hawaiian perspective.  It is a learning space for digital media and broadcasting courses as well as Kamehameha’s High School news broadcast, Puka Mai Ka Lā.  Haumāna can request help from Digital Media Kumu and utilize this area for their individual or outside class assignments by reservation.
