Stages

Kamehameha Schools – Kealapono ʻOhana Engagement (‘OE) team identified 3 stages of ʻohana participation; ʻOHANA INVOLVEMENT, ʻOHANA ENGAGEMENT, and ʻOHANA EMPOWERMENT. Within each stage we identified ʻohana  roles, activities, and outcomes. Knowing this allows us to support and honor each kula (school) as they grow their ʻohana participation.

ROLES -ʻOhana as active observer -ʻOhana as active learner, occasional co-leader -ʻOhana as active leader, teacher, resource, and advocate
ACTIVITIES -Attendance at events

-ʻOhana leadership or co-planning
-Skills reinforcement workshops and trainings
-Visioning and support
-Learner advocacy
OUTCOMES -Perception and satisfaction
-Exposure and fun
-Small to medium Attendance, Behavior and Course performance improvements -Higher Attendance, Behavior and Course performance improvements
