Parents and ʻOhana

As a parent or family member of a Kapālama graduate, you play a vital role in their success. Here are some ways you can help:

Stay informed about their progress and encourage them to work towards academic goals.

Encourage your student to maintain a healthy lifestyle and seek help if needed for mental health concerns.

Help your student connect with resources, organizations, and clubs aligned with their interests.

Be a source of emotional support and celebrate their accomplishments, big and small.

Allow your student to make their own decisions and learn from their mistakes, while supporting them along the way.

Remember, you are an important partner in your student’s post-secondary journey. Please connect with your student’s Transition Specialist if you or your student are in any need of any support.
