About Anu
With over a decade of working in higher education, from leading peer mentorship programs to increasing student retention and graduation, I feel most fulfilled when I am working alongside haumāna to achieve their personal and educational goals/dreams. I never intended to land a career in education; in fact, I changed my major three times during my undergrad at Southern Utah University, and none of them had anything to do with education. It wasnʻt until I got involved on campus and built meaningful connections with peers, faculty, and mentors, that I discovered my passion for Student Affairs in higher education.
After starting my ‘ohana in Utah, I quickly realized the importance of returning home to raise my keiki surrounded by ‘ohana, ‘āina and values that were so instrumental to me growing up. As an alumna and lifer of Kamehameha, it is an absolute privilege to return to the hill to support our young alumni in their post-grad plans and help continue Ke Ali’i Pauahiʻs mission to ho’ōla lāhui.
Educational Background
- BS in Psychology and Family Life and Human Development with a minor in Criminal Justice – Southern Utah University

Fun Facts
- Favorite Place in Hawaiʻi: Waimea, Hawai’i
- High School: Kamehameha Schools Kapālama
- Random Fact: I studied in Spain, Ireland, and England. If you are able to study abroad in college, do it! It is such a transformational experience that takes learning and perspective to a whole new level.
- Best tip for Postsecondary Success: Use these years to invest in yourself! Donʻt just coast on by—this is the time to take control of your education and maximize your opportunities. On the days it feels hard to ho’omau, remember your why. Lastly, you will not get to the finish line alone. When you need kōkua, ask loudly, ask unapologetically, and ask often. I Mua e nā koa!
