Student Eligibility & Readiness

Students Eligible for KS Digital Online Courses

KS Digital Online courses are available to current rising grade 9-12 KSK students in good academic standing and who exhibit traits to be successful in an online learning environment. Prospective online learners must meet the following criteria (no waivers at this time):

  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA, unweighted
  • Not currently on academic probation
  • Not currently on conduct probation

Th following additional criteria is highly desirable, but not required for enrollment:

  • Previous success in an online course
  • Exhibits traits proven to be successful in an online learning environment

New invitees will not be eligible at this time. Participation in online courses is optional.


Student Expectations for KS Digital Online Courses

Digital online learning requires a unique commitment and special expectations that should be understood
BEFORE enrolling in an online course. Those expectations include:

  • Access to stable, high-speed internet connection
  • Access to a microphone AND webcam
  • Ability to manage technology independently
  • Ability to manage work and time independently
  • Currently in good conduct and academic standing, including a minimum 3.0 GPA (unweighted)
  • Ability to engage in BOTH the synchronous AND asynchronous components of the course (if applicable).

What is your readiness level?

High Readiness

  • If you agreed with all of the above statements, there is a high likelihood that you will be successful with online learning.

Moderate Readiness

  • If you agreed with most of the statements, but disagreed with one or more statements, online learning might still be an option if you are willing to work at strengthening the skills and behaviors listed above. It is possible to get help with all the skills described from your community of support (parents, teachers, counselors).

Low Readiness

  • If you disagreed with more statements than you agreed with, online learning might not be the best fit for you at this time. You should spend some time developing the skills and behaviors listed above before considering an online course.
