Following the visit to Kawaiaha’o Plaza, comment on the things you learned, enjoyed, and wonder about after having gone through the three sessions at the field trip.  (your reply should be a well formed paragraph that may include mahalos to our presenters).  Due Monday by 3:15 pm.

Please write about what you have learned by doing the college webquest and from the college counselor presentation.  Why is it important for you to start thinking about college as an 8th grader?  What are things you can do now to prepare for post-high education?

One half of the year is over and that means you are 36 weeks from being a ninth grader.  You set goals at the start of the year in math class.  We have learned a lot together this past 2 quarters not only through math topics, but also through the KMT project, field trips, other team bonding experiences and school activities.  Please take time to write a comment (#sentences > 5) regarding how things have gone for you.  Have you met your goals?  What are some things you hope to improve on in the new year?

This is due by Friday at 7:30 a.m.  Everyone must do this assignment however, if you do not want for your post to be public, you may respond by emailing me instead.

We visited the archives at Midkiff Learning Center today.  Mrs. Zisk, our archivist, shared with us a folder that she prepared that taught us a lot about the history of our school and land.  Please comment (short paragraph) about what you were impressed with, what you learned and what other questions you have that may not have been answered.

Updated on September 28: We will have a chapter 3 quiz on the first five sections on Thursday, Ocotber 2.  The chapter 3 test will be on October 10 (Friday).

Please complete your chapter 3 vocabulary (in the notebook) by Octber 2.

The second chapter 3 quiz will be on October 10.  The chapter 3 test is expected to be on October 14.

How old were you on 9-11-2001?  What were you doing and where were you at when you learned of the tragedy?  Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, many reporters compared this to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December, 1941.  How valid does it seem?
