In a short writing session, please share about your Kamehameha experience.  When did you enter KS?  What was it like at your house when you found out you were going to attend Kamehameha?  What makes Kamehameha special to you?  Please write a short paragraph to tell your story.

Please take time to reflect on and write about our field trip to Kawaiaha’o Plaza. What are some new things you learned about our organization? What did you enjoy most about the field trip?

On Wednesday, April 11, the Lama team visited Helumoa.  We were greeted by Many Boyd where he shared some mo’olelo and mana’o.  We then explored the center that included learning from the native garden and Kaulani room, Apple Store and a Helumoa Scavenger Hunt.  Mahalo to our chaperone and hosts.

Students, you did a maika’i job today at Lunalilo Home.  Please take some time to write a well composed paragraph about some of the things you learned and enjoyed on today’s field trip.  What was a significant moment of the field trip?  What was your favorite part of the field trip?  What are some things that you learned?  (Due by Thursday, 2.3.11).

Please take some time to write about at least two things you learned from today’s presentation from Mrs. Sato and Mrs. Kekaulike.

Please share what you learned from the movie.  Please a well developed paragraph.  Write using complete sentences and share at least three things you learned by Thursday morning.

Students, we have been asked by Mrs. Zisk to help “archive” memories of our transition into the temporary buildings of KMS.  Please take some time to share your thoughts regarding this time of change.  Mahalo.

On September 22, 2010, the Lama team visited the Bishop Museum.  The primary focus of this field trip was to witness the Kü exhibit.  We watched a dramatic storytelling called, Mai Poina and visited the Picture Gallery, Native Garden and toured Hawaiian Hall.  Mahalo nui loa to all those who helped to make this field trip occur.  Mahalo to the staff and docents at Bishop Museum for helping us to connect with our Hawaiian Culture.

September 7, 2010.  What a beautiful day it was today.  The Lama Team went on a field trip to the Arizona Memorial.  We honored those soldiers who died on that fateful day in history.  After that we headed to the upper campus to visit the plaque that was dedicated to the KS students who served to protect the water tanks from Japanese paratroopers.  It was an honor to meet and learn from Senator Daniel Akaka.
