Performance Task Assessment & Rubric Development

A MESSAGE FROM KHS CURRICULUM COORDINATORS

Aloha e nā kumu,

Hope everyone enjoyed the Winter Break with family and friends!

In preparation for our K12 Curriculum Renewal work, time has been set aside as Dep Work Time, between Dec and Feb, to collaborate on the following:

– Revised “meets” statement(s) for your K2K rubric (K2K feedback is posted in your respective googledrive KHS Dept Folder)  Due FEB 17 in your KHS dept folder in google.

– Draft Performance Task Assessment for your respective course(s) aligned to DoK3 or higher

There are several different ways to develop performance task assessments.  A LiveBinder has been created to share these resources and examples.  The performance assessment needs to be common (agreed upon) per your dept agreement.  Assessments should align to Webb’s Depth of Knowledge level 3 or higher.  Due FEB 17 in your KHS dept folder in google.

Additionally, these assessments should be given to students in your designated class (only 1) between March and May.  The student work from this class will be shared with your K12 counterparts on May 30.

We recognize that each dept is unique in structure and where they are in this work, therefore, depts have some flexibilty to organize how best to get this work done before the February 17 date.

If you have any questions, please contact your DH or the CCs.

K2K 11/25/15 & Locations

As a reminder, here is a breakdown of the work that needs to be done:
  1. The maps were to be affirmed by the teachers by Oct 15 (as noted in SuccessFactors goals).
  2. The DHs reviewed the maps (Oct 15-Nov 15) and were asked to prepare feedback for the teachers with 2 possible outcomes of approving the map to “publish” (stages 1 and 2) as is OR make the suggested changes to the common course maps for “publishing” by December 31.
  3. Once the common course is “published”, teachers can work on their individual maps for the common course (stage 3).
NOTE:  If a teacher does not belong to a common course, he/she is to work on the singleton* courses to work on this year.  If a teacher belongs to a common course AND a singleton* course, he/she should focus on common course first and then work on the singleton* course.
*Singleton refers to a course taught by only one teacher (e.g. not a common course).
