Our Coding Club members formed teams of 2 people and using Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots and the technology lab’s computers, they programed their robots to complete various tasks. It soon became apparent that our keiki are very competitive! Mahalo to Jonah for helping our teams with the basic programming concepts. Our robots (Green Bay, Monster Programmer, D3Ray, and Tubie Twins) were off and running!
Lego Robotics will be taught next year at the elementary school and we look forward to future competitions. Robotics is a great way to motivate students toward STEM careers by exercising their creativity, building their confidence and problem-solving skills.
9,251 lines of code written so far by our Kamehameha School’s coders!
Introducing our Coding and Gaming Club!
Our coders meet every Wednesday after school to design, create and solve various coding challenges using Code.org, Tynker, Scratch and Lightbot coding programs. Our students collaborate together, learn from each other and learn about coding. Students work through courses that are self-guided and self-paced along with various “unplugged” activities (paper airplane challenge, binary bead bracelets, etc.)
Meet the Coders…Jonah S., Joshua M., Koali’I B., Cade C., Makana G., Keakahaapoli K., Cami N., Ellie R., Johnson U.,
