Twenty-two third, fourth and fifth graders vied for the offices of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer for our ʻaha ʻōpio (student council). They campaigned hard and with great creativity. This past Tuesday at our morning oli, each candidate gave a speech before 300 students, faculty and staff – wow! Immediately following their speeches, students in grades kindergarten through fifth voted in their classroom.
The ballots were tallied and the results are:
President: Sean Serville
Vice President: Lucas Godoy
Secretary: Makena Aiona-Agra
Treasurer: Kalissa Leslie
Congratulations to all of the candidates for being so ʻeleu and stepping up to the plate by taking part in this process – building pilina and being role models to all!
Congratulations to all of the new officers!
I felt that all of the candidates did an excellent job in their campaigns, from their posters, to their well-thought out and practiced speeches. Mahalo for a fabulous election!
