Beneath snow-capped Mauna Kea, our kula haʻahaʻa haumāna honored our Operations uncles and aunties for all of the hard work that they do to keep our campus clean, safe and our grounds well-kept and maintained.
Led by our ʻAha ʻŌpio (student council) students, the morning pule, oli and a recognition of the grounds, custodian, and maintenance workers made for a special morning.
Students in grades first and fourth donated loads of goodies and snacks which were made into two huge gift baskets along with extra bags of goodies. These were presented to the operations staff.
Director of Campus Operations/Fiscal Administrator Peter Fuchs, thanked the students for their generosity and noted that all of his dedicated staff “come to work every day knowing that they work the you, the students”. He asked the students to do their job in assuring that they study and learn as much as they can on behalf of Princess Pauahi’s legacy.
