Yesterday, our keiki, faculty and staff wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. At morning oli, kahiau, to give without expecting anything in return, was the manaʻo o ka pule – thought for the week. Students donated a dollar on this day – donations will be sent to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Foundation.
Halloween is just day away, students will be donating a canned good to the Hawaiʻi Island Food Basket as part of their “treat” in Trick & Treat. Again, kahiau.
Operation Christmas Child is in full swing now…has your child talked about this at home? Classes are filling shoe boxes with items for needy children around the world. The boxes will be blessed at our Thanksgiving Convocation. Another act of kahiau.
Pennies for Pauahi, now in its seventh year here at Kula Ha’aha’a, will commence on Nov. 26th. Students may bring in their pennies, dimes, any denomination – all of which is donated to the Ke Ali’i Pauahi Foundation for pre-school scholarships. Kahiau.
Our beloved Princess Pauahi lived kahiau as she left for her people in perpetuity, the gift of education. Kahiau is very evident in our keiki here at kula haʻahaʻa as they continue to demonstrate it through these activities.
