Former KS Hawaiʻi student Keoni Thompson treated our kula to some very cool music during lunch today. Keoni, who is pursuing a career in the singing/entertainment field, visited our kula to “give back” to our school. “I love performing for the little ones”, he related. Keoni sang songs by Adele, Taylor Swift, and of course Maroon Five’s “Got the Move’s Like Jagger” that got the upper el kids moving in their seats (with Kumu Marcie and Mrs. Kāneakua dancing too). Grade 3-5 offered the oli Mahalo as they were leaving the dining hall.
Keoni is leaving for Los Angeles tomorrow and is meeting with a few very well connected folks in the entertainment field to see how they can help him pursue his dream. Wow. What an honor it was for him to share his talent with us today. Good luck to you Keoni and remember your kula ha’aha’a ʻohana when you make it to the “big time”!
