As parents, have you tried to “push” your child to “be friends” with certain children? Do you encourage or discourage your child to have specific friends? Well, world renown therapist Dr. Michael Thompson suggests…STOP!
Children will determine their friends on their own. They SHOULD be allowed to determine their friends independently. This was one of many suggestions made by our guest speaker, Dr. Thompson at our ʻOhana Summit held last nite at kula ha’aha’a.
With approximately 70 parents & ʻohana in attendance, Dr. Thompson answered questions from the audience ranging from cell phone/ipad usage – what’s appropriate, how to manage; to a child asking how babies are made.
