WIZARD OF OZ!

Now that the production is over, please comment on how you felt the process of preparing for the show went — what went well, what can be better next year, how you felt about the final production result, and what you learned from the entire process.  If you have ideas or suggestions for the future, please also include those below.

  1. I loved the show and thought we did better as we progressed and the more practice in front of the audience. I wish that i was an audience member and got to see the entire play.

  2. The play was wonderful! all the boys and girls were well prepared for each scene. I had a great time with everything. Thank you to all the teachers involved with putting this play together.

  3. I thought that the show was awesome! there were a couple things that we could have done better on like learning the dances and being able to stay in character while on the stage. I thought that the final show went pretty smoothly. Next year we should spend more time on learning the dances and how to stay in character and being able to sing and dance at the same time. I learned that you may not like the people you are working with but you just have to deal with it for the sake of the show.

  4. I believe that after all the stress, rehearsals, and time that we have put in for Wizard of Oz, it really paid off. I liked Fridayʻs show the best, because it was actually the show when we got serious and did good! I liked our costumes and the way we all looked. I only watched the Wizard of Oz once, but after practicing it so many times. That will be a memory stuck in my head 5evaaaaar.

  5. What went well in preparing for the show was having the choreographer there for most of the rehearsals so that if we ever had questions she was there. However, it wasn’t good that a lot of people didn’t show up to any of the rehearsals so we couldn’t block where they would be and the staging. I think that the overall production went really well, and we all pulled it together to put on a great show for everyone who came to watch it. From this whole process, I really learned that being dedicated is a big part in putting together a great show.

  6. I loved preparing for the Wizard of Oz. The show itself was a great production that everyone loved. I learned that you have to come to rehearsals otherwise you wont know what is going onstage during the actual thing ! I think we should either do lion king or high school musical next year 🙂

  7. This years production of The Wizard of Oz went very well. It was an amazing production put on by the students this year. During the process of preparing for this play I wasn’t too sure that the performers were going to pull it together. From what the audience commented on the show though, they said it was amazing. We did a good job of pulling together the show. There’s always room for improvement though, so next year we should just be more prepared and maybe the show will be better than this production. I learned that its really frustrating if you’re not prepared so next time i will be more prepared!

  8. i loved the play! I loved that we were constantly on stage and doing something. Thank you to all the teachers who helped with this, especially Mr. Mahelona!!
but Honestly, i wish i could have been part of the audience for at least one show because a lot of people said that it was really good! ^_^ kpau.

  9. Now that Wizard of Oz is over, I have such a melancholy feeling about it. I’m happy one reason because it’s nice to not have to worry about choreography and memorizing songs for the show, and also to have my after school time free to do other things. However I’m also sad because Wizard of Oz was such a great experience to have. The singing and dancing, it was such an adrenaline rush every time we performed it. Throughout the process of preparing for the production, there was like any other production, dramas between the performers. But in the end, we all stuck it through and pushed all differences aside to perform a good and successful show. That is what I think I took the most out of this whole experience. What I feel was the most successful out of all of our little segments we had, was the jitterbug. Everyone knew the dance and the song well enough to just have fun with it, and I think that playful and energetic vibe really showed.

  10. OMG so Wizard of Oz was waaaayyyyy beh-ugh than the Sound of Mussic. *brtiish accent* yeah the last night was obviously the best night because everyone knew what they were doing and we could just go crazy. I loved it ! And cause my faddah said he was impressed with all our talent. okay I’m out! shoots boots!

  11. I think that the show was a success and we had a good showing. I think that the munchkin land scene went well. The emerald city was good. The only thing that didn’t go smooth knowing when to come on. I think we should do Grease next year.

  12. The Wizard of Oz was a great performance! It was a lot of fun and I feel like we all put our hearts out on that stage. It was very time consuming, and Iʻm kind of glad its over.

  13. I LOVED THIS SHOW HAHAHAHAHA! BOTTOM LINE IS IT WAS LEGIT. I LIKED THE TREES WE LOOKED HOT! HAHAHAHA NAH JK BUT I THINK WE ALL DID GOOD AND NEXT YEAR THEY NEED TO BE MORE ON IT.

  14. The production was great from my perspective. Then again I was out in the house for the whole thing. The music was fun as hell. We got better every night. It was a great little project for us. I would’ve appreciated more time with the orchestra though. It’s a great experience and it’s always fun. I just hated how tight our space was.

  15. So the Wizard of OZ was, in my opinion, a great success. I thought that the Concert Glee did really well with the whole performance. I don’t think we could’ve changed a lot of things because it was really good. I think, for me, it was a great experience because even though I don’t go onto stage and perform in the front of people I had adrenaline to just go out there and do it.

  16. This year the show was a great success!:D I believe that the munchkin scene went very well, since I heard from many audience members that it was a delightful scene to watch. My personal favorite was the Emerald City number, because it was really fun tap dancing. I learned how to catch on to my cues very well, and also how to completely change character and costume very quickly. One thing that didn’t always work out was having the live dog moved around, but by the last show we had worked out all the quirks. Next year we should do a musical that has a ton of really fun dance numbers such as Grease or Hairspray!:D

  17. I think the show was very good. I think that it was a great show and it was a big success. I loved learning all the music and dance. My favorite scene was the jitter bug scene. I enjoyed this show a lot. I think that the audience had has much fun as we did! I learned that it’s best to be prepared for the show because that way it is more fun.

  18. The show turned out better than I expected!!!! Treeeeee Sistaaaaaa!!!!! We did put a lot of work into it and it really did turn out to be really fun:) I thought, though, that the play/plans/dates was kind of last minute and rushed, but we pulled it together and everything was fine:) Great Job everyone.

  19. The Wizard of Oz was a great production and everyone agreed. I really miss rehearsals even though they used to annoy me before. The preparation was worth it and I felt really confident on stage. I didn’t have to think about the dance and song since I already knew it. I think that next year we should take the play more seriously. We can have fun on stage but still be serious about it.

  20. Now that the show is finally over we have time to relax….NOT! Christmas concert is in two weeks and we have to prepare the same way as Wizard of Oz. I believe the Wizard of Oz production was a success. Thanks to all the hard work and time put in to it by the actors and singers we were able to put on a great show. As we prepared for the show I didn’t think we could pull off the choreography ad well as singing. As it came to the final days of preparation everyone began pulling together and Iʻm sure we had a lot of fun! I learned that creating a production like this is quite frustrating, but in the end itʻs rewarding. It was a great experience for me and I would definitely do it again!

  21. It was a great show! Everyone did very well and were very patient with the play. As it went on the show became more and more fun. The final result was really good and it was great to watch it come together. Nothing negative 🙂 My favorite was Emerald city because it was so happy and upbeat and everyone knew the choreography 🙂

  22. I think this years production of “The Wizard of Oz” was a success. The actors were spot on, the dancers were amazing and everyone did their part to make it a great show. There were some difficulties that came with the show, but they are barley noticeable to the audience. I personally had a good time and built relationships with choirs members from other classes. I’m sure we all had a good time and are looking forward to next years production!

  23. I think the Wizard of Oz was a great experience! I really like munchkin land. I learned the whole dance and song. Practice is very important for this musical. However I think that next year we should do a vampire musical. RAWR ^__^

  24. The Wizard of Oz was better then last year. It was much longer though, which I didn’t like. The last show was the best. Everybody knew what to do and the dances were great! This was a very difficult show. If you miss just one practice then you won’t know a lot of things. Maybe next year we could do Grease or West Side Story.

  25. The wizard of Oz was so much fun! I really enjoyed being apart of the production! It was a bonding experience for all of us. Next year though, we should do something that offers more speaking parts. It was still really fun to have such a variety of roles we had to play and sing and dance for. Good job to everybody!! we were so cute 🙂

  26. I think that we did great on the play. Each day we got better because we had a better feel for the play. Personally this play was so much fun and I can’t wait to do something like this again. I really enjoyed being apart of this production. Also it was a great bonding time for all of us.

  27. The Wizard of Oz was amazing! I really enjoyed working with our classmates. According to others, they said that we did really good. My favorite part was the singing. Next time, it would be nice if more people showed up to the rehearsals. But over all, it was great

  28. I thought the show went well over all, but I felt that the last performance that everyone was over it and with that feeling we did not do as well as the second night of performance. I was definitely going to make an effort on this performance since I made a sacrifice for staying after school even though it was going to be very late when I get home. I learned from the entire process that we need to be professional even if it just a school performance, learning now to be professionals will prepare us for the real world. Maybe a suggestion for next year is a little bit more communication. maybe have a day for middle school to help them.
