What it means to be an ‘Aha ‘Ōpio officer (Brock)

Being an ‘Aha ‘Ōpio officer means to me that you have more Kuleana. It also means that you are given the opportunity to be a role model and leader for the kula. I have to demonstrate what is good and right through my words and actions for the smaller keiki to follow and show them the pono path. If we don’t do what is pono then others will think that is okay and they will follow you. Being an officer, you should be proud that you can help your Kula improve and that as a leader you have to stand up for what is right and set a good example in school and in the community. Also, being an officer reminds me to be thankful that I’ve earned the trust of my classmates and teachers and to appreciate the blessings from Princess Pauahi.
