Hey Mathematicians! Are you up for a math challenge? Well, here’s a multiplication one for you! Be one of the first 3 to answer it correctly with the work shown and you’ll receive a prize!
There were 6 piglets hanging out on the farm. Each piglet has 4 legs. How many legs are there altogether?
Use what you already know to solve the next problem.
The farmer went and bought 18 more piglets. So now there are 24 piglets on the farm. How many legs are there now?
Hi Miss Everett I think the answer is 24.
I think the next one is 96.
1. 6 piglets x 4 legs = 24 legs
2. 18 + 6 piglets = 24 piglets x 4 =96 legs
Brock if you can show me the work for both your answers then you may still make the top three! Good luck!
La’iku you also have to show how you got your answers…just like we practice in class! Good luck!
6 x 4=24 6,12,18,24
24 x 4=96 24,48,72,96
First one is 24 because 6 x 2 =12 6 x 2 =12 + 12 =24
second one is 96 because 24 + 24 =48 + 48 = 96.
Congratulations Brock! Your prize will be coming tomorrow =)
Congratulations La’iku! Your prize will also be coming tomorrow! =)
The 1st question is 24 because 6,12,18,24
The 2nd question is 96 because 24 + 24 =48 + 48=96
