Did you know……..

  • The population of Samoa is about 183,874 and the currency that they use is called Samoan tala?
  • The haka is a type of ancient Maori war dance traditionally used on the battlefield and its a display of a tribe’s pride, strength and unity in New Zealand?
  • The Capital of Tonga is Nuku’alofa and they have a reigning King ʻAhoʻeitu ʻUnuakiʻotonga Tukuʻaho Tupou VI?
  • The Marquesas Islands are a group of volcanic islands in French Polynesia?

Ask anyone of our fourth graders to share with you some interesting facts about their selected Pacific island in Polynesia.  They have been busy conducting research in and out of the Learning Center, gathering information electronically and utilizing printed resources. They will present their interesting findings, artifacts, and new knowledge on an informative display board along with an oral presentation given by each group member.
