Human Resources (HR) Internship Description

Under the mentorship and guidance of HR Division leadership, selected students (4) will experience a day in the life of a college-degreed Human Resources professional – screening job applicants; interviewing, selecting, and orienting new employees; conducting job market research to determine education and education requirements, average pay, and the economic outlook for professional HR positions that are available in many organizations; and participating in research and assessments that help people from different backgrounds work together and improve communications in the work setting. Students will create a “winning” personal resume that will help them succeed in college and career, gain practical experience as a job interviewee and “mock interviewer”/interviewer, and explore insights into their own interpersonal and communication styles, as well as examine generational differences and how these differences impact teamwork and productivity at work. As an added benefit, the skills and experiences attained as an HR intern will equip the student with necessary tools to stand out in the college admissions and scholarship/financial aid processes.
