Twinsies Vine

Ever wish you had an identical twin?  Now you can!  Check out this example of how you can interact with your “video” twin . . .

Steps:

1.  Compose a MS or MWS with rule of thirds with you standing on one side of the screen.

2.  Hit record and stay in the frame for about 10 seconds, then walk to the other side of the frame and do another action for 10 seconds.  You can interact by talking or waving as in the example.

3.  Stop recording and turn in camera to get a card reader to import your footage.

4.  Editing – you will use the need to edit your video by using layers and cropping to create a split screen.  First put your clip into the timeline on the V1 layer.   Get the same clip and this time put it on the V2 layer right on top of each other.

Then look in the Effects Tab (on the bottom left squre) and open the VIDEO EFFECTS folder, then the TRANSFORM and you then will find CROP.  Drage the effect and drop it on to BOTH clips in the sequence.  Now you will have the ability to crop out one side of the video to make a split screen.

Look for the EFFECT CONTROLS tab in the top left box.  Crop should be an option and click on the triangle so it points down.  Now you have the options for Left, Top, Down, Right.  On your V2 layer, choose either the Left or Right depending where you are standing and hover on the 0.0% thatʻs in orange and you can now move it so that itʻs about 50% (or wherever it needs to be to reveal the person).

Lastly, edit out any extraneous parts in the beginning and end.
