Grades three, four and five have been swimming this month and improving every time we get into the pool. Students are learning basic swim and survival skills. They are also learning the importance of being safe in and around water. Most of the students are enjoying the pool and excited about being able to do the skills they learn.
I want to use this opportunity to encourage all of the students to continue their learning with swim lessons at any of the community pools. Living in an island environment offers many ways to enjoy the water with activities and for fitness and recreation. It is so important we all do it safely and with respect for such an important resource.
