Aloha!  My name is Smith “Kaleo” Kaleohano, but everyone knows and calls me Kumu Kaleo, you can too!  I was born and raised in the ocean community of Keaukaha, where I continue to reside today.  This is my third year teaching Papa 1 and thoroughly enjoy it.  Before becoming a first grade teacher at Kula Ha`aha`a, I was a preschool Kumu for our Kamehameha Schools.  I currently hold a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education.  I have an 10 year old son whose name is Kalei.  Kalei is in Papa 5 at Ka Umeke Ka`eo.  I enjoy going to the beach to holoholo, camping, playing sports and spending time with Kalei.  I also enjoy learning about our Hawaiian culture and feel that it is very important as a kanaka Hawai`i.

I look forward to building positive pilina with all haumana and `ohana.  E ho`omakaukau no ka papa `ekahi!!
