Tech Tips: Keep Powered Up

Keep Powered Up OS X

Are you having power issues with your battery?  So was I,  as I searched the internet for answers I found a few that helped.

  • Fully charge laptop when plugged in for the first time.
  • Keep juices flowing, do not leave plugged in all the time.
  • Reduce your charge to 50% when not using your laptop for a long while.
  • Let the battery go all the way down then recharge at least 1 a month.
  • Turn off Bluetooth when not in use.
  • Change your System Preferences to optimize your energy settings.
Optimal Setting

  • Energy:  Change energy settings in system preferences to maximize performance.
  • Brightness:  Dim screen to 50%.
  • Applications & Peripherals:  Disconnect projectors, quit applications, & eject DVDs and CDs
