WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO THIS YEAR?
Activities planned are as follows, but are subject to change are:
Swimming
-Biking-
Running-
Fitness, Cooperative Games, Jump roping, Kickboxing, Yoga, Step aerobics, Dance
, Basketball and more
.

The running program at the middle school is designed to help improve their cardiovascular endurance and to prepare them for the high school PE program. Timed .5, 1, 1.5 mile runs will be assessed throughout the year.  6th grade students will compete in a Biathlon= 200 yard swim and 1 mile run.  They will also do a timed 2 mile run at the end of the year.

Our swimming program emphasizes on the freestyle stroke.  Beginning videos will be taken and pre-assessed with a swim rubric, then constant skill development, and peer and teacher assessments throughout the year will help each child improve greatly on their form, no matter what level they are at.  At the end of the year, we will video tape everyone again and using a rubric, give a post grade.

Biking is another important aspect of PE.  Students who have not learned should not worry.  We will be biking and helping everyone.  This is a great place to learn how to ride, and a safe place for all.

Please email me with any questions or concerns.

I look forward to working with you and your child!

Mahalo.
