If you check out the Vines posted by Zac King (Final Cut King), you can be inspired by his “magic.”

You too can create some magic as well. Today you will test your skills with a quiz. It is a hands-on quiz as you are being assessed on the skills that you have learned so far (framing & composition, camera, and editing in Premiere). There are 2 options you may choose from:
OPTION A – Dissapering Vine
You will shoot 1 continuous shot of a MS of your partner snapping their hands 2 times, then walking away out of the frame. Then continue shooting the empty frame for another 10 secs. **TIP – make sure your background does not have any major changes such as people moving or light changes.
OPTION B – Stopping Time Vine
You will shoot 1 continuous shot of a WS of your partner standing then jumping up and finally landing. **TIP – make sure to hold your shot for about 5 secs before and after the jump.
The quiz consists of 2 parts so you will be broken up into smaller groups to get the work done.
Part 1: Pre-Production & Production – First you will storyboard the shot, then you will go out and shoot it. It is only 1 shot, but you may shoot as many takes necessary. You must use a slate properly AND keep in mind framing, composition, juxtaposition, back light, etc! You have 20 min. to complete this task.
Part 2: Post-Production – Set up a new project correctly in Premiere. Import your footage, make edits, add music (check your audio levels), export your 6 second final, AND load it to the drop box. You may use your written notes as well as the downloaded tutorial for guidance, but you may not ask your kumu for help.
Partners:
Part 1 first – Nahalia & Makana, Austin & Revan, Kawai & Kaikea, Wyatt & Shane L.
Part 2 first – Casey, Brooke & Noah , Nainoa & Shane S., Micah & Ashley
