Honors Physics is a rigorous course designed to prepare students for demanding college physics classes and science-related careers. It is an algebra-based curriculum. A high level of mathematical ability is required. Honors Physics places heavy emphasis on problem-solving and mathematical modeling of physical phenomena. This course covers the principles of Newtonian Mechanics, which includes kinematics, dynamics, energy, momentum, uniform circular motion, and waves. This is a laboratory course with multiple “hands-on” activities.
