Algebra 1: Solving Equations

We’ve started with solving equations in one variable. There are two overarching ideas that govern equation solving:

  1. The order of operations
  2. Inverse operations

We’ve talked about two “new” operations that we’re including when solving equations:

  1. Radicals (using it as “Square Root Function”)
    1. To undo this operation, square (raise to the 2nd power) the square root.
  2. Absolute Value
    1. To undo this function, you will need to split and solve for both possibilities of the absolute value.
