Maui Moon/Dark Moon – Junior/Senior Women

November 27th, 2013 by kaaarona

MAUI MOON (As performed by Kekuhi Kanahele)
Lyrics&Music: Andy Aiona Long, Lysle Tomerlin

You taught my heart how to love, Maui moon
Once on a night in the bright month of June
One tender kiss by a deep dark lagoon
And then my life was changed
All because of the Maui moon

(Words & music by Ned Miller)
Dark moon, oh way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You’ve lost your splendor
Dark moon, oh what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because you’ve lost your love

Mortals have dreams of love’s perfect schemes
But they don’t realize, their love may sometimes bring

Dark moon, oh way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh tell me why
You’ve lost your splendor
Dark moon, oh what is the cause your life withdraws
Is it because, is it because you’ve lost your love

You made me dream once again, Maui moon
Dream of a love that I lost all too soon
Love haunts me yet like a gay gypsy tune
Where is my sweetheart now
If you know, tell me, Maui moon
