Students wrote narratives about characters from Color Alive app. They followed the writing process from prewriting, rough draft, editing, proofreading and final copy. A rubric was used to help them self-assess their work. They participated in speaking and listening by sharing and presenting their stories to the class.
Boys’ Day
We celebrated Boys’ Day on May 5 by making carp kites. It is a Japanese custom that began in China. Long ago warriors flew banners above the gateway of their homes to honor their sons. Flying the carp streamers encourages boys to work hard to reach high goals. Families in Hawai’i celebrate Boys’ Day to wish their boys health and happiness!

Hauʻoli Pakoa- Happy Easter!
Our class has been learning from a series of Hawaiian-focused devotionals for the season of lent the past weeks. We reflected on the gift that God gave us in his son Jesus Christ. On Wednesday, we had an all school Easter chapel service.
May you enjoy the celebration of Easter with your ʻohana and remember the blessings that Ke Akua provides!
