Each grade level teacher has a teaching partner. This helps when planning lessons, developing assessments and organizing the daily/weekly/yearly activities teachers do year after year. Our specials teachers do not have the benefit of having a counterpart on our elementary campus. Therefore, the ability to meet with specials from our Kapālama or Maui campus is met with much anticipation and joy! Last Friday elementary specials teachers from our campus and Kapālama flew to Maui to meet all together and share the good work that is going on on all campuses. While your keiki had a substitute teacher during their specials class(es), know that the teachers were hard at work at Kamehameha Schools Maui. And as luck would have it, it was Mauiʻs Poʻalima ʻUlaʻula, Red Friday, a day to show solidarity as Hawaiians! The day ended with a wonderful assembly in their dining hall. All teachers attending the Kumu2Kumu walked away feeling rejuvenated and ready to move forward in the collaboration process. Mahalo nui to Campus Strategies, under the guidance of Alyson Silverstein, for the support!
