It actually took a lot of work because we had to learn more than one different language. I learned that learning a new language is difficult because there is different intonations. I would probably practice more then I did so we would know everything better. They said that they liked the choir and the band the most. But maybe change the play because they thought that was confusing. A suggestion would be to have another riser because it was tight. My favorite part was how much we bonded and came together to learn Natufurahi.
It took a great deal of time and practice to make this performance great. From the classroom and even on our own everything was a great deal of help. We definitely needed to and if there’s anything I learned it’s that to do this requires a lot more work than just trying to memorize words. We ha to be able to compensate the orchestra and other groups of singers which on their own was a challenge. But next the memorization will be our key to success. The crowd really seemed to enjoy our singing, which was my favorite part, seeing the crowd sway and sing along as we sang. Overall it was a great concert and I cant wait for another but next time more risers please.

It took a great deal of practicing inside and outside of the classroom. Extra work needed to be put in to make Natufari successful, which it was.

I learned that if you want to make a successful performance, you need to put in the work. I also learned that if you do put in the work and the performance turns out successful, it is one of the best feelings in the world.
3) What would you do differently for the next performance?
I would try to look a little happier when I’m singing so it looks like I’m enjoying myself, which I am.

Everyone who I spoke to said they enjoyed the choir section the best and wished we had a bigger part. They also took a liking to Kala, who apparently was quite the character at the concert.
5) Any suggestions for next yearʻs Christmas Concert?
Not to be mean, but everyone I spoke to about the concert said they had no idea what the play was about. If this is true, maybe cutting out the play or making it a smaller part would suffice.
6) What was your favorite part of the concert?
When Nolan gave his solo and the girls went crazy.
I really enjoyed the concert and it was really fun to sing especially since it was my first. It took a lot of work to get this done, and we all worked really hard to get our songs memorized and ready to perform. We didn’t know all the words to some of the songs, but we practiced and eventually we got it down. I learned that you should NEVER push aside memorizing something in the last couple of days because its like cramming rubbish into a trashcan that’s already overflowing. It was really fun and also if we work hard then it will sound beautiful. I wouldn’t really want to do anything different because we sounded good, maybe just practice a bit more. My family said we did great and the band did great but the play was confusing. Only when Cassidy said “yowza yowza yowza” it was the only part that my family fully understood. I think next year we shouldn’t have a play just music from the Hawaiian ensemble, band, and the concert. My favorite part was that our chorus worked all together and everything that we practiced worked out in the end and was really good! I really liked the Christmas concert!!

to make this performance successful it took lots of hard work and concentration. we had to practice a lot and it took some time to memorize each of our parts and the lyrics for the songs. from doing this i learned what it feels like to be on stage and that i need to practice getting over my nervousness in order to do better. with the next performance i think i should try to relax more and just do my best. overall my family thought it was good although the play did confuse them. i can say to just keep the same enthusiasm and maybe to put in a more christmas themed play. My favorite part of the concert was when we sang sleigh ride because it was one of the happiest and joyful songs we sang.
1) It took a lot of work to make this performance a really successful one. We had to learn about eight different songs and some songs we had to sing in different languages and learning how to sing in that language was the challenging part for most of us.
2) I learned that from this performance, everyone has to show up to rehearsal on time and we have to focus because from all the rehearsals, most of us didn’t know all of the words to Natufurahi.
3) I think I will take more time to memorize the lyrics and my voice part because some songs I forgot my voice part so I sang Bass.

5) I suggest that there should be more rehearsals because after going through what we did this Christmas concert, there should totally be more rehearsals. Also because some of us weren’t prepared.

My mom thought the choir and hula kahiko should of only performed . Next concert there shouldn’t have a play going on. At lease have a good play performing next time. My favorite part of the play was us singing and playing around during the concert.

It took a lot of time and work to have a successful Christmas concert performance. There was a lot to memorize and get down. On top of remembering the music and stuff we also had to have happy faces. We had to give the songs away with our facial expressions too.

I learned a lot from this experience. I learned time management with memorizing my lyrics. I made sure I made time as much as I could to go through the songs throughout the time of preparation for the performance. I also learned to have fun with everything. Even though it was a little stressful getting up to the performance, it was fun. We all had a good time and got to bond a little more.
3) What would you do differently for the next performance?
Something I would most definitely do differently is get so stressed out about hula. I had to make a change for hula and make it back in time to dance and then sing, but I didnʻt make it back in time for my hula and I missed my song. So singing behind the curtain was not the highlight of my night. I was bummed that I missed singing one song. I especially liked the song I missed too. I just wish if my kumu knew I wasnʻt going to make the change in time she would of told me and saved me the time.

The most main comment I got from people who attended the concert was that the band and choir was the best part of the whole night. My family didnʻt go so all the comments came from my friends. They thought we as a choir did really good which was a great thing to hear for me.

I think for next yearʻs Christmas concert the play should be relevant to the songs being sung. I also this we should expand the risers and organize the staging area a little more spaciously. Other than that I think the Christmas concert went well.
6) What was your favorite part of the concert?
My absolutely favorite part of the concert overall was just singing. I loved singing with the choir and concert glee. It was so much fun and I think we pulled off the concert very well. I loved being on stage with my class overall.

2) I learned that next year I should get the schedule, because then I can travel between band and chorus.

It took a lot of work to make this performance successful, because we had to learn songs in different languages. Most of the languages we weren’t familiar with, so we had a hard time pronouncing the words correctly and hitting the right notes. From this experience, I learned that we should use the time that we are given to practice. Some of the times that Mr. Mahelona gave us to practice during class, we didn’t use and we just took pictures on our laptops, sang other songs, and talked about things other than chorus. For the next performance, I would bring my own food just in case there is none provided. The thing that my parents said was that Nolan had a great voice, and that the concert was well put together. They also said that their favorite part was the singing and the band; they didn’t like the play too well. The last thing that they said is that they saw me swaying the wrong way. ٩(●̮•)۶ Trolololol. A couple suggestions that I have for next year’s, or upcoming concerts would be to provide food and have one more riser because it was very squished, especially in our marshmallow dresses. My favorite part of the concert would be when Mr. Mahelona was making faces to us during the concert.

IT TOOK SOMEWHAT OF ALOT OF PRACTICE BECAUSE WE HAD TO REMEMBER THE SONGS IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES. WE ALSO HAD TO STAT COMMITED TO THE SONGS AND MR. MAHELONA. HAVING THAT REAL TALK SESSION WITH HIM ABOUT HOW WE NEEDED TO SOUND GOOD REALLY HAPPENED.

1) This production took a lot of effort! We’ve sang these songs like a thousand times, and I’ve been singing them in the shower since October! Iʻm happy our class took the time to go over the songs we had a hard time with, and I think we did amazing and sounded great.
2) I learned that you have to play lots of attention in class and go over the lyrics, not only in class, but at home, too. I also learned team work is very important. Without my Soprano 2s, Iʻd be so lost.
3) Next performance, I would be better memorized and prepared.
4) My parents said we sounded amazing, and my siblings really enjoyed the songs we sang. I heard that we were loud, but could’ve been louder.

1) It took a lot of handwork to make the concert a success. We had to make sure we learned each of the songs, and could also sing the correct parts. Learning different languages was a little difficult, but we made it happen.
2) I learned that it takes a lot of time and effort to entertain the audience and put on a good performance. I learned that we should take each song seriously and use the time we have to actually practice and learn them.
3) I would have prepared earlier and a little better for the songs. I would take more time to learn the lyrics and also learn my voice part. I would actually try to enjoy it and make it more fun.

For the christmas concert to be a success it took a lot of hard work. We had to work really hard to memorize our words and practicing the songs. I learn the you really shouldn’t procrastinate because I was procrastinating when it came to memorizing my words and had to learn it all right before the concert. Something I would do different is working on my words so I can focus on the singing part more. My parents said that they couldn’t follow the plot line of the play and the choir sounded good even if they couldn’t understand half of what we said. I think that the plot should be easier to follow next year and maybe we could wear something different. I really enjoyed the performance I had a lot of fun.

Memorization was key! It took a lot of work to learn the songs in such a short time right after W.O.O. It took a great amount of time and constantly going over the words for the songs during that short amount of time before the show!

I believe that when everyone worked together and put their minds and hard work together it made a successful concert. It took everybody in performing arts to make it happen.

I learned that you have to work hard and learn your lines to your music ahead of time and not the day of.

I would probably learn more of my lines so that I could be and feel for confident.

My family said that they loved the band and the concert glee because we were practically the show. They liked how concert glee was pretty much the life of the show.

Write the play ahead of time then center the music around the play. And make sure the play makes sense.

My favorite part was the singing and when the band played their songs.
To make this Christmas Concert successful, we had to practice constantly in our classes, and then some outside of class. At first, it was clear it wouldn’t be successful so we had to add extra practice the night of the performance. We had to work together.
I learned that together with people leading our class, we are able to congregate and progress as a class; it was very last minute, but we worked together for a better outcome.
For the next performance I would put more time into memorizing the lyrics to the song.
My parents thought that our performance was very good, except the fact that you couldn’t hear Wadelyn.
There should be more space between the Fall play and the Christmas Concert.
My favorite part of the Christmas Concert was the A Capella songs we sang. It sounded good (I think) and I had fun singing words that I had no idea what the definition was.
1) How much work did it take to make the performance successful?
Personally, I had an acting role for the play, this made life extremely stressful and I was under A LOT of pressure. We all had to dedicate ourselves, which meant making sacrifices. But sacrificing things only benefits us, and allows us to present a good show.

That even under a great deal of pressure I can follow through with my commitments.

Well, i’d probably like more prep time, we should have moved it to next week. 2 weeks after Fall Musical is cutting it close.

Apart from all the different languages, I/we also learned just how important it is to use time wisely. And that if you don’t care and don’t do your best then your performance will be terrible.

Find a way to incorporate all aspects of the show in a better way. A lot of people that I talked to who were in the audience said that the play really made no sense and they didn’t understand how it fit into the show. I think that the band and Concert Glee and Chorus should be incorporated a lot more!!
6) What was your favorite part of the concert?
My favorite parts were when the band played!! I loved the first song that they did, and when they played the polar express it was great!!!! I also loved when we started swaying and how much fun we had as a class!!!!
1) To make this performance successful, we had to put in A LOT of work. We had been practicing these songs since the beginning of the year, and it finally paid off in our concert.

It took A LOT of work to make the performance successful. Many people even bursted out and yelled at everyone because they were upset because no one was taking the extra rehearsal practices serious.

I learned that in order to make a performance successful, you need the cooperation from everyone. After all, we are a choir, meaning you need everyone, not just one.
3) What would you do differently for the next performance?
I would probably memorize the songs more BEFORE the night of the performance rather than on the day of. We should have our songs memorized way before the day of the performance so that when we rehearse with the orchestra we all know what we are singing.

Everyone that I talked to loved the performance. They thought that the choir was the most successful part of the whole show. They enjoyed the songs, but they also noticed that during some of our songs we kinda went soft at the parts where we didn’t know the words.

Ummmm, maybe us, the choir, just having our own christmas concert. Or make the play kinda relevant to what’s going on because it was a little confusing.

Basically singing, because when we weren’t singing, we were sitting down on the risers all confused as to what the play was about.
This year’s Christmas Concert was pretty successful. It took quite a lot of work to make it successful though. At the very last moments before the concert started we all buckled down and decided that we really needed to practice our songs. We were victorious and I believe that we stole the show! This year i learned that we should learn to manage our time and work on preparing better for any performance. Next year we should prepare better for our performances and manage our time better. I didn’t formally get any comments about our show, but i could tell that we were really good. The choir + concert glees were just amazing.
Next year, the play should be more interesting and it should somewhat relate to the songs were singing. My favorite part was when it was over. #sorrynotsorry. Haha just kidding but not really. I also liked when we were back stage and we had to keep standing up really fast because we didn’t know when our cues were. That was pretty fun but overall we had a successful performance. It definitely will always be one to remember just like last years performance and i can’t wait till the next!

1. It took class time, lunch rehearsals, and even a rehearsal right before the concert to get us actually going to try to sound good. It was stressful, but knowing we can pull it off made me feel successful.
2. I learned that it takes a lot of effort to pull off a good performance, I also learned how to just have fun with it rather than be uptight about a performance.

6. My favorite part was the a capella songs.
1) How much work did it take to make the performance successful?
A LOT of work. I mean, i didnʻt work on it enough. I didnʻt rehearse enough for the songs.
2) What did you learn from this experience?
I learned that i should go to every rehearsal there is and make time for it because going on stage not knowing all the words to a song is very embarrassing. BUT we sounded SOOOOO GOOD. i loved that performance.
3) What would you do differently for the next performance?
I would prepare myself more.

They LOVED us. They thought we sounded very good and we did!

Ummmmm…. rehearse way more often.
6) What was your favorite part of the concert?
My favorite part of the concert was singing. Felt great performing and doing something that i love to do.
Christmas concert took a lot of time and preparation prior to performance. We had to juggle that along with Wizard of Oz, and it was a bit much, but we handled it rather well. I learned that even though we can pull something at the last minute, it’s better to get down to it earlier. That being said, I recommend tat we practice at home so we don’t sad bad when it comes time to perform. My friends thought we did well, as did my family. For next year’s christmas concert, I’d recommend that somebody contact Krisinda and let her write it. 😛 My favorite part of the concert was the awkwardly long dancing in the beginning of the performance. It was unexpected, but how ridiculously long and tedious it was made it funny. 🙂
It took a lot of work and effort to make this performance. Also learning different languages does take work especially when you are not familiar with the language.
I learned form this experience to always be prepared ahead of time so when the day come you are not scrambling and not making other people frustrated. I
I would have taken this event more seriously and not have waited to the last minute to know different songs.
Some comments that were made was that the band was so overly powerful that at some points of the songs they could not hear our voices, but I do not think that is an easy fix.
My favorite part of the concert was sleigh ride and at the end of the show when we did the wave.
It took a lot of work to master our Christmas concert. I learned that you have to be on top of things so you don’t look like a fool on stage. We did it, and we did amazing, but it took alot of rehearsing right before the show to get it down. I think i would study my words more, and memorize them BEFORE hand. My family said that we were the best part and that we sounded super good ! Its the only part they actually enjoyed. lol. I think that we should just do great again. My favorite part of the concert was when the Hawaiian ensemble were singing, and everybody on the soprano side was just dancing and chilling (:

It took a lot of work on our part because we had to not only learn to speak different languages, but we had to sing in those languages. Also, because it was right after the Wizard of Oz, the rehearsal time was scarce but in the end, we had a great performance.

I learned that this is the real world. The show must always go on, no matter how prepared or not that you are. Not only that, but also that most of concert genuinely cares because most came together to ensure we had a great show.

I would definitely commit more time to the show so I don’t have to try and cram everything the day of the performance.

All of the comments I heard about Christmas Concert were about how well the band and choir did. And they also said that it looked like we had a lot of fun on stage.
5) Any suggestions for next yearʻs Christmas Concert?
Have a play that makes sense and rehearsal as a whole production.
6) What was your favorite part of the concert?
Curtain call was definitely my favorite part because we had fun, it was the end of the show, we pulled off the songs we didn’t think we were going to, and the wave was fun because we probably would have never been able to do that at any other performance.
