“Purpose of the program: This is the second year we are offering the Girls Engineering day after a very successful first year. It’s intended for girls currently in grades 4-8 who may be interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers. We hope to expose them to the exciting possibilities of a STEM career and to have them interact with female role models who pursued careers in STEM. This year the girls will be engineering two different airplane models and a water bottle rocket. All of them will be flown during the session and then taken home for further exploration.”
