3G: Sound Energy

The third graders are exploring the vibrations of sounds. Sound is created any time something vibrates. It could be a LOUD sound or a soft sound. It could have high or low pitch. Depending on what is vibrating, sounds will all be different. The third graders are trying to see which bottle would make the high and the low pitch sounds when filled with different levels of water. What do you think? Ask a third grader. Students were also given a chance to explore sounds with tuning forks. It made for a very loud morning in science as each student created ringing sound waves in the class. Check them out in this short video. Enjoy!
