• The favorite wife of Kamehameha
• She was named after her father’s rival, Kahekilinui‘ahumanu, who at the time Ke‘eaumoku was fleeing from.
• During the time of her marriage to Kamehameha, she was suspected of having had an affair with the top general Ka‘iana, upon realizing this Kamehameha banished Ka‘iana and chased Ka‘ahumanu till Pu‘uhonua O Hōnaunau and placed a kapu on her body, so that no one could touch her.
• She was baptized a Protestant and later banished Catholic missionaries from the islands.
