Book of the Month-How Many Ways Can you Cut a Pie?
This is a cute story about a squirrel who has prepared a delicious pie to be entered in a pie contest. One by one, her other animal friends come by requesting to have a slice of her pie. Although the term, “fraction” is never used, young children learn about the concept of fractions as a means of sharing and dividing a whole into equal parts.
Top 5 Android Math Apps
Last month I provided you with some favorite ipad apps. So in all fairness, here are the top 5 math apps on the android, in order of their popularity:
5. Math Attack improves basic operational math skills.
4. Mental Math Preview helps to improve mental math calculation skills.
3. Math Training for Kids also provides opportunities to practice basic math operations in a fun way.
2. Math Workout includes minigames such as mathblaster and world challenge.
1. Kids Numbers and Math Lite is ideal for preschoolers and kindergarteners. It is prompted by a voice, so that kids can learn how to spell math words as well.
