Quadrilaterals

Hi Mathematicians! Do you remember what a quadrilateral is? It is a polygon with 4 sides and 4 angles.

Some quadrilaterals have special names. They are grouped by the pairs of sides that are parallel, sides that are of equal length, and angles that are right angles.

Trapezoids: Have one pair of opposite sides that are parallel

Parallelograms: Have opposite sides that are equal length and parallel

Rectangles: Have opposite sides that are equal length and parallel and have 4 right angles

Squares: All sides are equal length, opposite sides are parallel, and 4 right angles

Rhombuses: All sides are equal length and opposite sides are parallel

Activity Directions: 1)Go to http://www.mathlearningcenter.org/web-apps/geoboard/
2) Use 3 or more quadrilaterals and other polygons to make a figure/design (You could create a house with 2 squares and a triangle..don’t use this example)
3) Save the picture to your camera roll and upload it to ebackpack
