“Ua lehulehu a manomano ka ‘ikena a ka Hawai’i” – Great and numerous is the knowledge of the Hawaiians. (We create, share and apply knowledge in purposeful and relevant ways). In our Papa Heluhelu (Reading Groups) reading strategies are introduced and reinforced to kōkua our keiki in strengthening their reading potential. Some reading activities include oral phonetic games, vocabulary building and spelling skills. Our keiki challenge their ability to become a better reader while working in small groups, with a partner, as well as individually. (Activities in this photo: Say, Write, and Draw, Chunking Words, Roll and Read, ABC Order).
