One of our goals for our haumāna (student) is for them to become independent users of the library. In doing so, our students need to know how to navigate through the library catalog, how to conduct a simple search, how to read the record and then locate the resources in the library. Papa ‘Ekolu did a “Grandtastic” job today searching the OPAC (online public access catalog) and locating resources in the non-fiction collection. I am confident that with practice & opportunities to use the OPAC, these students will be independent users of libraries!
