Each month, our grade level teachers select two students who have demonstrated our three school-wide behavior expectations, Palekana (Be Safe), Ho`ihi (Be Respectful) & Kuleana (Be Responsible) within the classroom.
The parents & `ohana are then invited to have lunch with our respective citizens and sit up on the stage as part of their recognition. The citizens are then called to the front of the stage where they are honored by their fellow classmates and teachers.
Every Spring, our kula holds elections for the new school year `Aha `Opio (Student Council) officers. We had a record number of students who tossed in their hat as they vied for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. It was a very close race!
Our officers are the alaka`i (leaders) amongst our students.
Congratulations to Miss Kalei Chang and Mrs. Elaine Hara, both serving 5 years on our campus, Mrs. Darleen Varize who celebrate 10 years of employment with KS, and our newest member, Mrs. Healani Waiau, with 20 years of service.
