Teacher Appreciation Day

Mahalo to all who made this day possible. For parents volunteering time out of their busy schedule to be with the students while teachers enjoyed a wonderful massage and lunch was all the thank you we needed. I love what I do and enjoy working with children. It is truly my life’s calling.

Paper Airplanes

We read a Time Magazine for Kids article on things that fly so we decided to make our own paper airplanes and take it out to see if it will fly. It was fun to see the paper airplanes fly and watch as some needed on site repairs. What a blast!

3 dimensional Shape Monsters

Students had tons of fun today making shape monsters made of 3 dimensional shape snacks. They were then given the task of graphing what shapes they used and how many of each. They made cool, fun, and scary looking monsters! Ask your child to describe a 3-d shape and to tell you about the faces of each shape! What a great way to end our Geometry Unit!

Mahalo Uncle Lopaka

Meet Taylor Hekekia’s Papa, Uncle Lopaka! Uncle Lopaka drives a huge tanker truck! He is a senior driver for Kuwaye Trucking and hauls gasoline to Costco’s, 76 gas stations, and Airports! We’ve been learning about all kinds of different transportation in our kaiaulu and how cool that we actually got to meet an actual truck driver from our community! Uncle Lopaka works extra long hours and on his days off he washes, dries, and polishes his tanker truck until it is sparkling and shiny!!
Mahalo to Taylor’s Ohana!
