Welcome to the KS Kapālama Kula Kiʻekiʻe Counseling Department.

Our programʻs mission is to ensure that our students have equitable access to a school counseling program that is comprehensive, data-driven, and purposeful and that addresses their academic needs, college and career readiness, and social/emotional needs. Our school counselors will empower our students to actualize their aspirations by successfully pursuing a post-secondary education, entering a career of their choosing, and cultivating their ability to lead the next generation as ‘Ōiwi leaders.

The vision of the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama comprehensive school counseling program is that each of our students will acquire the mindsets and behaviors to be successful, contributing members of the community. Through partnerships with community members, support from ʻohana, a Hawaiian culture-based education, and proactive interventions, our students will take on the role of ʻŌiwi leaders who are empathetic and confident, culturally and spiritually grounded, passionate life-long learners, and academically prepared to take on the rigor of a post-secondary education and find career success in their chosen field. Our students will advocate for themselves and others and will become stewards of the ʻāina, culture, and language of Hawaiʻi who move to advance the health of the lāhui through globally-minded servant leadership.
