Addition Strategies<\/p>\n
1) Add the tens, then add the ones.
\n 68+27=?
\n 68+20=88
\n 88+7=95
\n So, 68+27=95<\/p>\n
2) Add the nearest ten, then subtract the extra ones.
\n 44+38=?
\n 44+40=84
\n 84-2=82
\n So, 44+38= 82<\/p>\n
3) Add 100 (round 2nd # to 100), then subtract the extra ones.
\n 65+97=?
\n 65+100= 165
\n 165-3= 162
\n So, 65+97=162<\/p>\n
4) Add the 100’s (round both #’s to 100), then subtract the extra ones.
\n 96+95=?
\n 100+100=200
\n 200-4-5= 191
\n So, 96+95=191<\/p>\n

\n1) Subtract the tens, then subtract the ones.
