100 Chart Exploration

We’ve been exploring the 100 chart as a tool for math. What are some things you noticed about the 100 chart? How can you use it to solve problems? If you had to find the sum of 34 and 55, how would you use a 100 chart? Provide details.

    1:in the second row all of the first digits are all the same and also the second and the other rows
    2:you can count faster then when you count in your head
    3:if you go from 1-9 and go down all of the last digits are the same
    the sum to 34 and 55 is 89. from 34 I went down 5 and counted 5 to the right.

    A 100 chart is like a number line but it goes to ten and the next line it says 11. At the end of that line it has a 20. Also the last number in the line is always a ten. If you go down from any one the last digit is the same.When ever you go down from five it says 5 15 25 35 45 55 65 75 85 95.The sum of 34 and 55 is 89 because if you go to the number 34 and go down 5 44 54 64 74 84. Then since the number is 55 you go to the right 5 times also 86 87 88 89 and that’s how I got to 89.

    I noticed if you go diagonal from eleven its all dobble digits.If you
    start from ten and go diagonal to the bottom it go’s 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 which is in order counting backwerds by ones.If you go down 1 time it is adding 10.The sum
    of 34 and 55 is 89. The way I got the sum of 34 and 55 is I went down five
    times and to the right five times and that is how I got the sum of 34 and 55.

    I noticed that on 12345678910 when you go all the way down all of the second numbers has the first own. And I also noticed that if you go from eleven to ninedynine diagonal all the numbers are duble digets.I also noticed that the 100chart when you go all the way down it has 12345678900.how you use the 100chart by when you go up you are minsing a 10 when you go down you are adding a 10 when you go left you are minsing a 1 when you go right you are adding a 1. you go from 34 down 5 times and then you right 5 times and I thick that it is 89.

    If you go from nindyone to ten , it is a pattern and the pattern is 123456789 is counting by one. If you go from ninedynine to eleven diagnal all the numbers are double digit. If you go from one to a hundred diagnal , the last number of every digit in a pattern . The pattern is counting by eleven. Thirty four and fifty five is eighty nine. You go down five times then you go right five times.

    If you go down on the left, the numbers go from 1 to 9.If you go up in a diagonal, it go’s even, odd, even, and odd.when you go from 11 to 99 it’s dubble digit.34 and 55 = 88. I found that out by going down 5 and going to the right 5.

    I noticed that if you go one right you are adding one. If you go one left you are minisng one. And if you go one down you are adding 10. and I also noticed that if you go one up your minsing 10. the anwser to the prombmle is 89. by going 5 down and 5 across. I also noticed that if you go diagonl it is it is double digit like 11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,99.

    acroes.i notic that when you start form ten and go diagonl it gos like this 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 when
    you start form 11 and go diagon it gos like this 11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,99 when you start form 10 and go down it go like this 10,20,30,40,0,60,70,80,90,100.It
    is inporent because i use those
    numbers.

    The sum is 89 I know because you start from 34 then go down 5 and 5 to the right then your answer is 89. I learnd on the 100 chart when you go up your subtracting 10 and say 28 + 28 you look and you see on the 100 chart. the next row is a number is higher number 4. and when after the then in the calms when you go after 50 and starts a new calm and a higher number. to the right your adding 1. so say 1+1 then you see and when you go and start from 1 instead of going down you go to the side one. and down your adding 10 and say 22 + 10 you go up ten and you answer would be 12.and when you go to your left your subtracting 1.so say 32- 1 you going to go back 0 .and when you start from 11 it’s double digits and in every calm when you go down it will be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0. and when you go from 100 to one it counts backwards from 10 to 1.and from the teens to the ninedees it goes 11 that makes 11. then it goes 12 that is 12. so it goes one, one two ,two then three three, then four, four then it goes to 99 .

    starting from 11 going slanted it is all dubble digget. Starting one going diagonal it is like counting. Going right is adding. Going left is tacking away. the sum is 89 go down 5 go right 5 times.

    The sum is 89 I know because you go 5 down and 5 to the right because going down is adding 10 and going right is adding 1.If you go diagonal down the 2 numbers are the same .If you go down the last number is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0.If you go up it is subtracting 10.

    I notice that when you go down you tack away 10.And if you go 1’2’3 then you are adding 1’s.And if you go up then you are adding 10.And 34 and 55 and the some is 89. I found out it because I wet down 5 times and go 1’2’3’4’5 times on the right.

    jaya: I like the comment that you posted but the one I really like is the one that says if you go up in a diagonal way it goes even,odd,even,odd.

    Ethan I also notice what you noticed. That if you start from 11 it’s a pattern like 11,22,33,44,55,66,77,88,99.

    .Each frist number on the top roe 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and you start at one go down and strite across evevy number you count 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19 evey frist digit is one.2. Bye using the one hudereds chart bye using math if down one that conts as ten and one ahed is one.3.If you go down from one all the last digit has 1.The sum of 34 and 55 is 89 beacause if you start from 34 and go five down and five acros you get 89.

    when I count from one and count diagonaly it gose 123456789. when you count from one and go down the first number is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. When you count from 9 going down the second numbers is 19,29,39,49,59,69,79,89,99.
