Welcome To Kamehameha Kula Ha’aha’a 2012-2013!

Aloha and welcome back to school year 2012-2013

Hope your summer break was a fun, safe and productive one for you and your family. I want you to know that I am looking forward to having you all in P.E./Health class this year.

We will be doing a variety of skills and activities throughout the year; some of the more traditional sports, some fitness activities as well as activities you can enjoy for a lifetime. We will continue to balance the physical, the mental and the social aspects of being a healthy member of our community. I will strive to keep you as active as possible during class time while helping you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to become and remain physically healthy and active. The emphasis will be on fitness and well-being!

All classes will have P.E./Health twice in a six-day cycle. On physical education days, it would be great if you are comfortable and able to move in many different ways. Wearing your shorts, your uniform polo and athletic shoes would probably be the most comfortable for doing what we do in class.

We will have health lessons to learn the importance of being healthy and how make good choices to improve and maintain our overall health. Concepts in safety, nutrition, physical activity, hygiene, avoiding tobacco, alcohol, and drugs will be covered this year as well.

Again, I look forward to having you all in P.E. and Health and my hope is that we all learn to be healthy together.
