Choosing a “JUST RIGHT” Book.

five-finger-ruleThe 5 finger rule is simple and help students find a book that is “just right” and true to their reading level. Here are the steps: 1) Choose a book that you think you want to read.  2) Open the book to the second page or the second page of the first chapter.  3)  Read the page. 4) For every word that you can’t read or have to really sound out word, put a finger up.  If you have 5 fingers up, that means your book is too hard.  If you have 1-3 fingers up, that means your book is JUST RIGHT!
