On Friday November 14th, a group of 7th and 8th graders listened to Cameo Renae share about her journey in becoming a best selling and award winning young adult author. Cameo Renae is a Maui girl who broke into the writing scene about five years ago with her first book, In My Dreams. Students learned how her love for reading and writing began with an elementary teacher who introduced her to creative writing. Students watched the trailer to her upcoming short film based on her most recent dystopian book, ARV-3, and asked questions about the possibility of full length feature film starring themselves as the main characters! Mahalo nui loa to Cameo for sharing your inspirational story to our students and best of luck in your future endeavors!
