Individual Growth Plan 2015-16

Based on your self-assessment, your supervisor’s input (observation data and conferences, and any division initiatives, what goal have you identified?  What is an area of knowledge or skill that you would like to strengthen?
To deepen my understanding of the NexGen standards and to scaffold lessons that will complement the SBAC testing for reading and writing. Building in student driven “Stars and Stairs” writing guides and rubrics.

Describe the connection between this goal and your teaching assignment.
This goal is directly connected in the outcomes of student success in taking the SBAC. If I am able to create lessons that will aid in the students reading and writing this will prepare students to perform with more confidence when taking the test.

What would success on this goal look like?  How will you know when you have achieved it?  What would count as evidence of success?

  • Deeper student understanding of the science content and growth in the writing Summative Assessment scores.
  • Haumāna will be able to articulate their ‘ike (knowledge) through their writing in the science textbook.
  • The entries in their science textbook from the question prompts presented in the lesson.

Describe the activities you will do to work toward your goal, and their time lines.
