Mahalo to all Kukui team for a terrific school year.\u00a0 To close out the 15-16 school year, here is a poem by one of our students as their end of year project:<\/p>\n
\u02bb<\/u>Imi Na<\/u>\u02bb<\/u>auao<\/u><\/p>\n
The brightness of enlightenment shined through each individual
\nWhose bonds connected by culture, were indivisible
\nSearched their hearts for the inner warrior
\nFor they played a major part in a legacy as the carriers
\nForever warriors in mind, heart and soul
\nAs one, strived to meet spiritual and academic goals<\/p>\n
From excursions to school work they\u2019ve completed it all
\nThrough \u201che Hawai\u2018i au mau a mau\u201d they stood tall
\nAs exciting as a roller coaster with it ups and downs
\nThrough smiles, laughs and nervous breakdowns
\nThey\u2019ve supported one another through thick and thin
\nOh what a year it has been
\nMauka to makai, they\u2019ve all explored
\nFound great knowledge and looked for more
\nThey sat hungry for understanding of their culture and past
\nLearned to be humble and steadfast<\/p>\n
Drove along life\u2019s journey and experiences
\nWith supporters on their side
\nEach second and mile at a time
\nAnd a road, which lead to success
\nDyed in hard work and dedication
\nSurrounded by the rocks of a firm foundation
\nMile markers tracked their exploration
\nThrough danger and life in the nation
\nBut by the help of significant beings
\nLife became full of feelings<\/p>\n
These teachers took small lessons and paved the way
\nFor students to have the best life they may
\nFrom the big group activities to unforgettable experiences
\nThey\u2019ve pushed through it all
\nPicked one up if they felt they would fall
\nTraveled through traumatizing times
\nThey became heroes and fans
\nHelped in tragic situations and set plans
\nThey\u2019ve prepared all for a life they are soon to meet
\nBut all the memories shared remained cherished and sweet
\nFor all will miss their welcoming smiles
\nAnd the middle school lifestyle
\nTheir acts have touched the hearts of hundreds or more
\nBut little do they know, they are the ones the students succeed for<\/p>\n
Once playful children to mature young men and women, they grew
\nBecame role models for others and are now looked to
\nFor their kind hearts and knowledge obtained
\nTheir characters and hearts have changed
\nPassed down a legacy for new generations to hold
\nThey are soon the ones to take control
\nFor their responsibilities in this world are soon to fulfilled
\nWith the foundation set and built
\nThey continued to live a life of goodness
